Salon Nights: Birthday Bags with Food & Friends

Join the EDCJCC at the Capital Jewish Museum to learn about the history and current work of local organization Food & Friends, featured in the Lillian and Albert Small Capital Jewish Museum’s special exhibition LGBTJews in the Federal City.

Support their work by making birthday bags for people with life-challenging illnesses. The bags we decorate will hold birthday cakes to send to clients when they are celebrating another year of life.

In partnership with the Capital Jewish Museum and Food & Friends. Program ticket is $12 or $8 for CJM members, and all tickets include day-of access to LGBTJews in the Federal City.

Food & Friends is the Washington region’s leading authority on “Food is Medicine” and the only community-based organization delivering home-delivered, medically tailored meals and medical nutrition therapy to neighbors living with cancer, HIV/AIDS, and other serious illnesses. Food & Friends’ services are free of charge to recipients who qualify solely based on their health status and nutritional needs, including for their dependents and caregivers.
